LET US IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF YOUR DIRT BIKE

The starting point for any Dirt Bike Performance Improvement is your engine.   You can specify the level of performance that you wish to achieve, such as:-

        Peak performance overall
        Maximum power at specified R.P.M.
        Increased mid-range grunt.
        Etc.

This is achieved by Head Porting (4-strokes), or Cylinder Porting (2-strokes).

To achieve higher power requires larger port areas, but without the knowledge and experience to correctly modify intake, transfer and exhaust areas, and without the equipment needed to produce the best port shapes for maximum power, you will not achieve the required results.

More low to mid-range grunt is best for off-road and novice riders, while increased power in the mid to top end will better suit intermediate and expert motocross riders.

A range of options is available to suit any budget:-

BASIC SERVICE - CYLINDER HEAD
The head will be dismantled and soda blasted.   Valve seats machined, valves refaced (steel valves), head gasket face precision lapped, re-assembled and valve clearance set.

 

PERFORMANCE HEAD MODIFICATIONS
In addition to the Basic Service the intake, exhaust port and combustion chamber are modified for increased air flow.
Improving the shape and surface finish of the ports, combustion chamber and valve seat profiles will bring the engine to the highest level of efficiency.
This complex process produces horsepower and torque gains across the entire RPM range.
We can also customise your power requirements.

IMPROVED STARTING

 IS YOUR DIRT BIKE DIFFICULT TO START?

This is a common problem with modern 4-stroke engines, and is often caused by reduced valve clearance resulting from valve recession (wear of the seating surface).  This reduced valve clearance will also result in reduced power.

MX Engines has the solution, with our STAINLESS STEEL INTAKE VALVE  KIT,
comprising:
2 x Stainless Steel Intake Valves   -   2 x High-Rev Valve Springs   
2 x Titanium Valve Retainers        -   2 x Hardened Steel Base Washers

  • Manufactured from 21-4N Stainless Steel machined one piece billet (not two piece welded construction), and with black Nitride coating to improve air flow.
  • This creates a hardness which is higher than the Stainless Steel base material.
  • The surface finish is smoother than with chromed stems, providing less friction between stem and guide.
  • The valve seat surface is harder with the Nitride layer, making it longer lasting with lead free fuels, alcohols, nitro or other explosive mixtures.   These valves match any kind of seat (nodural iron, steel powder metal, hard aluminium-copper or beryllium copper).
  • All of these features particularly suit higher rpm engines providing less power loss due to reduced internal engine friction.  The black Nitride layer reduces power loss because of less valve guide friction.
  • The chrome-silicon performance springs provide better valve control at high rpm and are essential when fitting a performance high lift cam.

 

This combination of high grade components ensures that your bike will run right and keep running right.  The Stainless Steel Valves are harder than standard valves, resulting in less wear and longer life.
